Default Deadline, Posting Your Assignments, and Treats

Default Deadline

Today is the exchange's default deadline, as works are due on May 22nd at 11:59pm — countdown here. Please consider carefully whether you will be able to complete your assignment before the due date. If you can't, you should default by going to your assignments page and hitting the "default" button or my emailing dreamingofexchange@gmail.com.

Participants who default after this date will be required to make a make up work, as explained in the rules, if they would like to participate in the next round of ENJ.

Posting Your Assignment

We've gotten some questions about how to post your assignment! When you've completed your assignment, you'll fulfill that assignment by posting to Archive of Our Own using the account you signed up with. The easiest way to do so is to go to the exchange colleciton on AO3.

• If you're logged into your account, there will be a "My Assignment" link under "My Sign up".
• Click on "My Assignment". You will see your assignment for this exchange as well as two buttons in the upper right hand corner: "Fulfill" and "Default".
• Click on "Fulfill".
• This will take you to the "Post New Work" page, where you can fill in all of the information for your fic.

Your fic will automatically be anonymous as long as you add it to the collection in this way, but you can check to make sure you've done everything right by previewing!

A few other specific notes:

• For the Gift this work to section, you should put your recipient's username.
• Your work is due a week before it is revealed. Feel free to use this time to have a beta look over it and make some last-minute changes! However, on May 22nd, your work must meet the minimum requirements and be complete.
• If you're posting written work straight from google docs, I suggest you use this add on to convert your doc to HTML and then post the HTML to AO3 for smooth and easy formatting.
• HTML for posting an imagine to AO3 is available in the FAQ.
• If you made a recursive fic or fanart, please mention what fic you're drawing from! Please don't used the "Inspired by" option until after author reveals, as it may deanon you.
• Also regarding fandom tagging for recursive works:
  • For Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen fic, A) you can just use "Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen" as your fandom tag, it will show up under the Naruto fandom due to AO3 tag wrangling. B) you can add your work to the Heliocentrism collection immediately if you'd like.
  • For all other fandoms you can just tag with "Naruto" or with "Naruto" and the fandom tag you nominated under or with just the fandom tag you nominated under, although if you take that last option your fic won't be listed in the "Naruto" fandom until a tag wrangler does things on the backend.

Treats

• You may write/draw additional fanworks for other participants and post them in the exchange collection as treats.
• You can find people to treat using the google sheet of requests (use ctrl+f to search!) or by just viewing the requests summary.
• Just post your treat in the exchange collection (there is a "Post To Collection" button on the collection!) and manually add in the recipient in the gifting field.
• Treats do not have to fulfill the minimum gift requirements (a fic treat could be, say, only 300 words) but they do have to respect DNWs and otherwise match the tags on one of the recipient's request.
• You can post treats even if you aren't signed up for the exchange.

To post a treat:

• Go to the collection
• Select the "Post to Collection" button in the upper righthand corner on either the Dashboard or Profile
• Follow the instructions above about posting anonymously, etc.

Also, if you want to produce an extra fanwork for the exchange that doesn't match up to anything that was requested, feel free to post it to the collection as a treat without specifying a recipient.
